A Mallard duck (Daisy) laid 9 eggs in late June on our front porch once more (fifth time). After 7 eggs had incubated, she didn't hold up for the last 2 to bring forth, in light of the fact that it was so hot (106), she needed to get the ducklings to the lake around 1/2 mile away. We accepted that the 2 eggs abandoned were duds, until the following morning when we heard one egg trilling. What a charming astonishment to discover life in one. The feature shows what happened next.
